National Reading Champions Quiz Teams

King Edward VI School, Lichfield fielded two teams to take part in the National Reading Championships. This has been our third year of competing and it's always a fantastic experience. We competed in our West Midlands regional heat, against 25 other schools.
Our snack station was a work of art and a quick dash to retrieve some pompoms, meant that we dazzled fellow schools, with our cheerleading prowess!
The questions were tough and tested our knowledge of the latest book releases as well as some classic titles and film adaptations.
Although we didn't win, we finished a respectable 12th and 20th and did ourselves proud on the day!
There are still opportunities to get involved with school activities related to a love of all things books and reading - we have the World Book Day Competition and a chance to take part on the voting process for the Young Teen Fiction Award.
Students can come and chat to library staff, in they are interested.
