Sixth Form Trolley Dash
On the last day of term before the Christmas holidays (Friday 20th December 2024) 38 Sixth Form students took part in the Annual Trolley Dash Race at the Bus turning circle at the school.
This is a tradition that has been taking place at KES for over 30 years, the first race took place in 1990, including the Head of Sixth Form - Mr D Butler, when he was a student here. (You can read the newspaper article about the first event below.)
The 19 teams who took part all dressed up for the race, and the winners of the fancy dress competition (chosen by Headteacher - Mrs C Forster, with help from the crowd) were Will McAneny and Jonny Senior who were dressed as nuns.
The race was created as a fun way to raise money for charity, this year over £80 was raised during the event, which was added to our charity collection for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. (Total: £273.22)
It was a great way to end the year at school, and the students really enjoyed taking part - well done to everyone involved!
