Year 10 Work Experience

The beginning of July saw 160 of our Year 10 students venture out into the world of work. We were really grateful to the 124 amazing employers who were involved in offering placements. These included companies such as:

• TSB
• Birmingham City FC Foundation
• Access Bookings Lichfield
• Central COOP
• Aston Martin
• The Boat Inn
• The National Memorial Arboretum
• The Hub at St Mary’s
• and many more!

Our local primary and special schools were also absolutely brilliant and offered placements to many of our students.

We were very appreciative of our wonderful families who not only supported students in finding placements but even offered placements themselves within their own workplaces.

Throughout the week, tutors enjoyed speaking to employers to check-in on how students were getting on and Mr Tizard and Mrs Baker were lucky enough to be able visit some local businesses and schools to see their new recruits in action. It was great to see how students had so easily transitioned into the workplace and become part of the team. There were lots of smiling faces!

We were so proud of the amazing feedback that we received from employers with many students described as being ‘amazing’, ‘hard-working’, ‘fantastic’, ‘an A*’ and even ‘a little celebrity’ within their workplaces. Employers also shared feedback that they had received from clients who had described students as ‘making such an effort’ and having ‘a lovely friendly tone’.

Good job Year 10. The only thing left to say is: YEAR 10 – YOU’RE HIRED!
