GCSE Results Day Success
Our biggest ever cohort of 246 students collected their GCSE results today. It has been lovely to see so many smiling faces as students see the outcome of all their hard work and commitment over time. They can now celebrate their results and confirm places on Sixth Form or college courses and apprenticeships.
90% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and 86% achieved a Grade 4+ in Maths this year with nearly 40% of the cohort achieving one or more Grade 7-9 in English or Maths. Student performed highly across subjects, opening doors to exciting future courses and opportunities. 60% of students taking Art GCSE achieved a Grade 7-9 this year and there was exceptional performance in History, with one in eight students taking the subject achieving a Grade 9. Student progress was particularly strong this year in many other areas including Science , Business, Food and Nutrition, Health & Social Care, Performing Arts and Geography.
Jane Rutherford, Headteacher commented:
We are incredibly proud of our students. Many of them have had to overcome their own personal challenges but they have done this by working with staff, parents and carers to achieve their goals. Whether students are returning to our Sixth Form or going on to courses and apprenticeships elsewhere we wish them the very best for the future.
