Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 have recently had the opportunity to work alongside two artists from Image skool to create an exciting mural in the social space in Bader.

The school council chose the space as an area they would like to improve and after a couple of meetings with Mrs Watson they decided they would like a bright, bold mural with the underlying theme of journey and growth to brighten up the space. Before work commenced the area was cleaned and the ceiling, walls and floor repainted ready for the mural to be created.

Students had 2 days to design and create the mural. The first morning was spent preparing and designing, the students worked in small groups to create a plan of what they would like the space to look like. The artists, James and Luke, then look elements of each of the designs to create a final plan for the Mural. It was then time to get to work! Students worked in groups of four to spray paint their mural in colours of their own choice, some students worked on the block-coloured areas, whilst the later groups tried their hands at blending to add the more realistic elements of the work.

The students were an absolute pleasure to work with and were a credit to themselves and the school. They have done an absolutely fantastic job to create a beautiful, bright, bold mural for their social space. In the coming weeks there will also be new benches going into the area to finish off the space to create a  nice, new dry social setting for students to spend their break and lunch.
