King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Mathematics teacher to join an exceptional department. This role is being advertised as full-time but a part-time appointment will be considered for a suitable candidate. In addition, the ability to offer a second subject would be desirable. This post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for an Early Career Teacher.
Mathematics is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. With 88% of grades at 9-4, 72% of grades at 9-5 and 32% of grades at 9-7 in GCSE Mathematics in 2024, you will be joining a high-performing, collaborative department. The appointed teacher will also have the opportunity over time to teach A Level Mathematics and A Level Further Mathematics in addition to GCSE Mathematics. We also have a successful Level 3 Core Maths course in the Sixth Form to encourage further development of students’ mathematical skills. Around 60% of our current Year 12 students are taking a Level 3 Maths course.
We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic teacher to take on a leadership role within the MFL Department at King Edward VI School. The successful candidate will support the Head of MFL with the leadership and management of the department, with a particular responsibility for leading French. This includes the co-ordination and delivery of Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level French.
For a suitably qualified candidate there may be an opportunity to take on further responsibility with an additional TLR as Acting Head of Department one day per week. We are looking for an exceptional practitioner with experience in subject leadership. The successful candidate will have a pro-active approach and excellent communication skills. As Second in MFL they will have a strategic role in working alongside the Head of MFL to shape the development of teaching and learning across the department in order to maximise achievement.

We are looking for someone with strong IT skills, preferably including proficiency in database management, ideally in a school environment, to join our well-established Data Team. Our Administrative Assistant – Data, will be responsible for managing the school Management Information System (SIMS) from a student perspective ensuring that the data held on the system is accurate and up to date. Examples of specific activities undertaken as part of the role include managing the data for students joining and leaving the school, maintaining accurate data for current students, co-ordinating and completing start and end of year procedures, supporting timetabling changes and census preparation.
The ability to accurately manage data is an essential requirement of the role. You will be self-motivated, proactive and able to adapt to evolving technology, revising processes and procedures to take advantage of software updates. Training will be available for a suitable candidate without SIMS experience.
Reporting to the Data Manager, you will be required to work under your own initiative. We are looking for someone who is thorough, works accurately and has excellent attention to detail and who can demonstrate effective communication skills including a high level of literacy. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload, operating in an efficient and organised manner and will be a team player with a flexible approach.
Lunchtime Supervisors

We are seeking to appoint reliable, flexible Lunchtime Supervisors to work within a friendly, supportive and well established team. Duties to include supervising students during lunchtimes in the dining areas and surrounding school grounds both inside and out. Applicants should be able to relate well to children, young adults and staff, act responsibly and be able to keep calm and respond quickly to situations.
Exam Invigilators

We are seeking to add to our team of Invigilators for examinations to provide additional support throughout the school year.
Duties include supervising students taking examinations, preparing exam rooms and distributing and collecting exam papers.
The ideal applicant will be well organised, resourceful and vigilant. Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility, good attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm.
We are particularly interested in applicants who are available throughout the whole week (Monday – Friday) in May and June and have the flexibility to come in at short notice, should the need arise.
We also run resits and trial exams at various stages throughout the year during which we would ask for additional availability. These being mainly in November, December, January, and March.
Training will be given.
