Students at King Edward VI School, Lichfield follow a curriculum based on the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum in Years 7, 8 and 9.

This includes:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • French and German
  • Art
  • Design Technology
  • Drama
  • Geography
  • History
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Religious Studies

The emphasis in Key Stage 3 is on cross-curricular skills in order to develop students who have a well rounded knowledge and the transferrable skills that students need in all subjects.

The majority of subjects continue the Key Stage 3 Curriculum to the end of Year 9; but core subjects study a transition curriculum which follows the National Curriculum but supports the transition to Key Stage 4.

We operate a two-week timetable with twenty-five lessons per week.

Assessment at Key Stage 3 is through a combination of classwork, homework and formally assessed tasks.
