Duke of Edinburgh Award

A life-changing experience. A fun time with friends. An opportunity to discover new interests and talents. A tool to develop essential skills for life and work. A recognised mark of achievement; respected by employers.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is many things to many people, supporting generations to successfully navigate adult life.

14-24 year-olds can do a DofE programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The opportunity to start the Bronze Award begins in the summer of Year 9 or the autumn of Year 10. Students who successfully complete Bronze can go on to complete Silver during Year 11.

All of Year 12 are invited to consider taking part in Gold DofE alongside their sixth form programme.

School staff support participants to select and record evidence for their volunteering, physical and skill sections and organise the expedition section.

The expeditions are run by Intense Adventure in partnership with the school.

Please contact Jenny Bryant, our DofE Manager if you have any questions.
